It is usually perceived that healthcare providers are laggards when it comes to IoT adoption. However, Gartner’s recent IoT survey finds that the healthcare provider industry’s IoT adoption is on par with retail and manufacturing industries.

Gartner’s survey results indicate that 79% of the healthcare providers are using IoT in their production processes. Healthcare providers include hospitals and integrated delivery networks, ambulatory clinics, physician practices, and other providers and services. Respondents also report that around 48% of the healthcare provider organizations are using IoT in full-scale deployments (in multiple use cases and projects), with an additional 31% using IoT in limited deployments (single-use cases and projects).
